British woman killed in Pilar Village

MANILA, Philippines - A 63-year-old British national was stabbed dead inside her house in the posh Pilar Village in Las Piñas City yesterday.

Senior Superintendent Jaime Juadines, city police chief, identified the victim as Jane Isherwoord. Her husband Kevin Isherwoord reporteldy discovered her lifeless on their kitchen floor about 8:30 a.m.

He said Kevin is a consultant in an undisclosed firm in Makati City and could not speak Filipino well.

Juadines could not say how many stab wounds Isherwood received. The autopsy report form the Funeria Pilipinas have yet to come in.

Juadines declined to elaborate on the case, saying any reaction might pre-empt their investigation but said robbery is a weak motive behind the killing.

“There was no forced entry to their house and their eight dogs did not even bark during the crime,” Juadines said, adding there were five people in the house when Isherwood was killed “but none of them heard or saw it.
