Fire razes El Shaddai worship stage

MANILA, Philippines - A fire gutted the worship place of El Shaddai devotees in Amvel Park, Parañaque City starting shortly before midnight yesterday.

Senior Fire Officer 1 Wilfredo Hernandez said the blaze started at 11:29 p.m. and was put out at 5:54 a.m. yesterday.

He said that while the fire only reached first alarm, it lasted six hours because firefighters had difficulty finding the blaze’s origin.

Authorities have yet to figure out the cause but said the fire started in the container vans at the foot of the stage. The vans have paper, plastic, and clothes inside, Hernandez said.

No one was hurt in the incident but estimated loss is at P200,000.
