Judge orders bank rob suspect transferred to Makati jail

- Non Alquitran -

MANILA, Philippines – A Makati judge has ordered one of the country’s top 20 robbery suspects transferred to the Makati City Jail from the Misamis Occidental Provincial Jail.

Judge Zenaida Galapate-Laguilles of Makati Regional Trial Court Branch 143 said Aylon Parojinog must be detained at the Makati City Jail because he is accused of robbery in Makati, an offense graver than the illegal possession of firearms and ammunition charges against him in Tangub City in Misamis Occidental.

Laguilles has ordered the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) to work out the transfer of Parojinog to the Makati City jail as soon as possible.

The BJMP in Tangub City declined the request of Metro Manila police commander Chief Superintendent Nicanor Bartolome for the transfer of Parojinog to the Makati City Jail in the absence of a court order.

Superintendent Remus Medina, Metro Manila Regional Police Intelligence and Operation Unit chief, submitted a motion to the court last Oct. 18 for Parojinog’s transfer to the Makati City Jail.

Medina wanted Parojinog thoroughly investigated for his role in a series of bank robberies in Metro Manila and neighboring provinces.
