Robbers set up 'checkpoint' in Caloocan

- Perseus Echeminada -

MANILA, Philippines - A businessman lost P8,000 worth of jewelry to robbers who dressed up as policemen and set up a fake checkpoint along Barangay Bagong Silang’s main road Sunday night, police said yesterday.

Initial police reports identified the victim as Ferdie Zulueta, who was riding a motorcycle when the five robbers stopped them at the checkpoint for “verification.”

Zulueta said one of the robbers shot at him, but he was able to flee and seek police assistance.
