1 ton of 'hot meat' seized in QC

MANILA, Philippines –  Around a ton of “double dead” meat was confiscated by authorities in Balintawak, Quezon City before dawn yesterday.

The “hot meat” was seized from makeshift meat stalls located between MC and North Diversion markets in Balintawak.

Officials said the stalls were only open at night. No arrests were made since vendors fled upon seeing personnel from the city veterinary office and Quezon City police officers.

The meat was brought to a dump in Payatas for disposal.
