Doctor sues Jaworski son for grave threats
MANILA, Philippines - A woman doctor has filed charges against a son of former senator and basketball star Robert Jaworski for allegedly threatening her.
Dr. Iraida David, 56, of Barangay San Antonio, Quezon City, filed charges of grave threats against Ryan Jaworski of Corinthian Hills, Pasig City, before the Quezon City prosecutors’ office.
She alleged that on July 1, she has a store near her house when Jaworski came up to her and told her he “will research your assets, license and whatever you’re doing now.”
David said Jaworski, a frequent visitor at a house on the same street where she resides, shouted invectives at her and allegedly threatened to kill her.
It was not clear in David’s affidavit where Jaworski’s supposed outburst stemmed from. She said she and Jaworski had no previous altercation prior to the incident.
David also claimed Jaworski threatened before he left the area that something bad would happen to her if she meddled with his family.
It is not the first time Jaworski has had brushes with the law. In 2001, he was arrested for possession of illegal drugs in Makati City. Two years later, he was arrested along with four friends for indiscriminately firing weapons along Florida street in North Greenhills. They said they were shooting rats.
In 2004, Jaworski and his group reportedly exchanged gunfire with another group, that of Anjelo Elton Yap, 14, son of businessman Tony Yap behind in East Greenhills.
