LRT 1 resumes longer hours

MANILA, Philippines - The Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) announced yesterday it will resume the previous operating hours of the LRT 1 that had been temporarily shortened to give way to maintenance work on the 30-year-old rail line.

LRTA administrator Melquiades Robles said the rail line will be open up to as late as 11 p.m. on weekdays.

The last train departing from Baclaran, Parañaque to Balintawak, Quezon City will depart at 10:30 p.m. and the last train from Balintawak to Baclaran will leave at 11 p.m., Robles said.

On weekends, the last train from Baclaran will depart at 9 p.m. while the last train from Balintawak has a departing time of 9:30 p.m.
