Caloocan mayor seeks support for Aquino
MANILA, Philippines - Caloocan City Mayor Enrico Echiverri yesterday appealed to city government officials and his constituents to throw their full support behind the administration of President Aquino.
“In order to raise the quality of life of the Filipinos, it is high time for us to unite so that progress that everyone has so longed for would finally be achieved,” Echiverri said.
Echiverri said the new administration needs the support of all sectors as well as of the local government officials to let Aquino deliver the programs he promised to the people.
“The current administration’s goals for the common good of the country and its people could easily be achieved though our full support,” the mayor said.
Echiverri and Vice Mayor Edgar Erice belong to the Liberal Party, which fielded Aquino as its standard-bearer in the May 10 presidential race.
District 1 Rep. Mitch Cajayon is a member of Lakas while District 2 Rep. Oscar Malapitan belongs to the Nacionalista Party.
