- Reinir Padua -

MANILA, Philippines - An unidentified woman jumped to her death from a pedestrian overpass at major intersection in Quezon City Sunday afternoon.

Chief Inspector Benjamin Elenzano, head of the homicide investigation section of the Quezon City Police District, said the woman jumped at around 5:30 p.m. from an overpass at the corner of Mindanao Avenue and Quirino Highway in Barangay Talipapa.

The woman fell around 20 feet to the ground and died on the spot, he said.

Elenzano described the woman to be aged 30 to 35 years old, 5’2” in height, fair-skinned, slender, with curly hair and in a brown t-shirt and checkered pajamas.

A cigarette vendor told police he saw the woman walking alone at the overpass. The woman suddenly climbed the overpass fence and then jumped, he said.

The woman is the sixth person on record to have committed suicide in Quezon City since June 20, according to police.
