MANILA, Philippines - Authorities in Manila and Caloocan cities said vehicular traffic will be re-routed during the 112th Independence Day celebration today.

The Manila District Traffic Enforcement Unit (MDTEU) said Roxas Boulevard (both north and southbound lanes) from Katigbak Drive to T.M. Kalaw street will be closed from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. to give way to the conduct of flag-raising and wreath-laying ceremonies at the Quirino Grandstand.

During the holding of the civic and military parade, the MDTEU said Roxas Boulevard and Bonifacio Drive from Anda Circle to President Quirino Avenue will be closed starting at 12 noon today.

The MDTEU will also close, starting at 12 noon today, P. Burgos from Roxas Boulevard to Ma. Orosa street; T.M. Kalaw from Roxas Boulevard to M.H. del Pilar; and the intersections of Finance Road and Taft Avenue and Lagusnilad and P. Burgos.

In Caloocan City, roads leading to and from the Bonifacio monument will be closed to vehicular traffic starting at 5 a.m. today.

Mayor Enrico Echiverri will lead the traditional flag-raising and wreath-laying rites. He urged Caloocan residents to join the commemoration of Independence Day at 7 a.m.
