Classes at UP start today

MANILA, Philippines - Classes at all University of the Philippines campuses start today, UP president Emerlinda Roman said yesterday.

Roman said apart from the Diliman campus, classes in UP Manila, UP Los Baños and UP Baguio will also open today.

Meanwhile, classes in UP Visayas and UP Mindanao started yesterday. The UP Open University, on the other hand, has been holding classes since May 29.

Roman clarified that the opening of classes in the state university will start this week, and not next week as earlier reported.

UP, established in 1908, is recognized as the only national university in the country. The university’s website said its student population has reached over 50,000.
