MANILA, Philippines - The city governments of Caloocan and Navotas have ordered the release of their midyear bonuses to help city hall employees cope with school expenses.
Re-elected Caloocan City Mayor Enrico Echiverri said 1,700 regular employees, as well as those with plantilla positions, will have received yesterday half their mandatory 13th month salary and half of the P5,000 cash gift for government workers.
Outgoing Navotas Mayor Toby Tiangco has also ordered the early release of the 1,198 city hall employees’ midyear bonus to avoid the school opening rush.
