Army reservist faces gun ban, child abuse raps
MANILA, Philippines - An Army reservist was arrested in Navotas City Saturday afternoon for pointing his gun at a child.
Rey Parasillo, 52, a resident of Barangay North Boulevard South (NBBS), who claimed to be a reservist of the Philippine Army, yielded a .45 caliber pistol with seven bullets when he was arrested at around 5 p.m., police said.
The police officers disarmed the drunk Castillo and brought him to the police station.
Donabelle Kapulungan, 39, told the police that Castillo allegedly pointed a gun at her 11-year-old son and threatened to shoot him for no apparent reason.
The police were preparing yesterday charges of violation of the election gun ban against Castillo as well as charges of child abuse for reportedly threatening to shoot Kapulungan’s child.
