Baker stabbed dead
MANILA, Philippines - A baker was stabbed several times and allegedly killed by fellow bakers after he reported for work drunk, late and even annoying his co-workers.
Dennis Francisco, 24, was dead on arrival at the Novaliches District Hospital following the attack that happened at past 8 p.m. Saturday night at a bakery in Barangay Nagkaisang Nayon.
Investigator Police Officer 2 Roland Belgica said Francisco died from 16 stab wounds from a kitchen knife and a screw driver. Suspects and fellow bakers Mario Tito, 27, and a certain Ar-Jay remain at large after running away since the attack.
Cashier Bonna Mulles told police that before the killing, the two suspects were working at the other nearby bakery until Francisco arrived very late and already drunk. The victim reportedly did not help his fellow bakers and even pestered them as they did their work. Angered, the two suspects brought Francisco to the other bakery where he could sleep. After Francisco was brought to the second floor of the bakery, Mulles heard words from the victim.
Mulles then saw the victim come down from the stairs already bloodied before eventually collapsing.
Mulles ran out of the bakery to call for help and rush the victim to the hospital. Witnesses later saw the two suspects ran out of the bakery.
