Caloocan barangay chief's house shot at
MANILA, Philippines - Unidentified attackers fired upon the house of a Caloocan City barangay chairman Thursday night.
Acting Caloocan City police chief Superintendent Florendo Quibuyen said his men recovered 9mm and .45 caliber shells near the house of Barangay 79 chairman Emmanuel Cruz, 42, who also sought police assistance when vandals burned his car parked in front of his house on Nangka street before dawn Tuesday.
Police are still trying to establish whether the two incidents are linked.
Quibuyen said Cruz is a known anti-drug crusader in his barangay while his wife is an employee of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.
Quibuyen said he assigned more police officers and a marked patrol car at Cruz’s place.
