10-year-old boy arrested for robbery

MANILA, Philippines - A 10-year-old boy was arrested for allegedly robbing a woman of her cell phone in Navotas City Friday.

Rachell Vinarao, 28, was walking along L. R. Yongco street in Barangay Navotas East, Navotas City holding her cell phone when a boy suddenly grabbed the phone. She shouted for help.

Police Officer 2 Rommel Rodulfo Pamor and Police Officer 1 Jose Launico Jr., who were patrolling the area, heard Vinarao’s shouts.

The police officers chased and arrested the boy and recovered Vinarao’s mobile phone from him. The boy was turned over to the local social welfare office for proper disposition.

The Navotas City police are set to coordinate with the officials of the public elementary school where the boy is a third-grade student.
