5 drug suspects nabbed in Taguig

- Rhodina Villanueva -

MANILA, Philippines - A suspected pusher and four alleged users were arrested in a drug bust in Taguig City Thursday night.

Taguig police chief Senior Superintendent Camilo Cascolan said Carlito Salgado, 44, was arrested in his house upon receiving marked money from an undercover police officer. Police said Salgado has been the subject of complaints from his neighbors on Visayas street in Signal Village for his alleged illegal activities. Upon learning of the complaints, Mayor Sigfrido Tiñga tasked Cascolan to work on Salgado’s arrest.

Taguig anti-drug police officers also arrested four men who were reportedly caught engaging in a shabu session in Salgado’s house at the time of the bust.

Cascolan identified the alleged drug users as Manuel Fianeza, Jr., 25; Noel Balbalosa, 39; Henry Enon, 29; and Mario Reyes, 48; all residents of Barangay Signal Village.

Police recovered an undetermined amount of shabu and drug paraphernalias in the said operation. Cascolan said appropriate charges will be filed against the suspects.
