NCRPO deploys cops to secure oil depot 24/7

-

MANILA, Philippines - National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) chief Director Roberto Rosales deployed yesterday a platoon of specialized policemen to secure the Pandacan oil depot against terrorist attacks.

The Regional Public Safety Management Battalion is composed of 45 officers and a commanding officer, under the supervision of RPSMB chief Senior Superintendent Jose Mario Espino, whose task is to maintain a 24/7 watch on the volatile oil refinery tanks to protect them against saboteurs.

In yesterday’s ceremony, officials of the Pandacan Depots Services, Inc. turned over to Espino a refurbished shipping container to serve as the barracks of the platoon.

“The timely provision of the barracks shall maintain the availability of the special policemen any time of the day who can easily be called upon in times of emergency,” Espino said.

The platoon shall augment the present team of Manila policemen assigned to the Pandacan oil depot.    – Nestor Etolle
