Las Piñas to shoulder students' graduation fees

MANILA, Philippines - In compliance with the Department of Education’s (DepEd) directive of the non-imposition of graduation fees, the Las Piñas City government said it will shoulder the graduation expenses of more than 14,000 graduating public elementary and secondary students in the city.

Mayor Vergel Aguilar said that honor students will also receive cash incentives. Valedictorians, salutatorians and honorable mention from elementary and high schools will receive cash incentives of P4,000, P3,000 and P2,000, respectively.  All the 14,502 public graduating students will also enjoy free merienda and transportation fare.
