MANILA, Philippines - A man who was riding a motorcycle was shot dead by two men riding tandem on another motorcycle after he nearly collided with them along Himlayan Road in Quezon City yesterday.
Police said tricycle driver, Rosauro Dorado, 40, and his wife, Charito, 38, were riding a Honda XRM motorcycle to visit the grave of Charito’s father at the Himlayang Pilipino Memorial Park.
Charito said while they were cruising along Himlayan Road, they nearly hit two men riding tandem on another motorcycle. She said her husband argued with the men, but then broke it off and they went to a nearby flower shop.
Charito said she had just alighted from the motorcycle and was about to use her cell phone to make a call when she heard a gunshot. She saw her husband down on the ground, bloodied, and the men with whom he had argued speed away on their motorcycle. The two men were both wearing helmets.
Charito said she took her husband to the Quezon City General Hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival from a gunshot wound in the back of the head. – Jerry Botial
