Roxas Boulevard closed for sports fest

MANILA, Philippines - The southbound lane of Roxas Boulevard from T.M. Kalaw to Pablo Ocampo street shall be closed to vehicular traffic tomorrow for a sports festival, the District Traffic Enforcement Unit announced yesterday.

The closure will take effect starting at 5:30 a.m. for the fun run. At 9:30 a.m. up to 3 p.m. the Phil-Chi spring bike festival will be held in the same area.

All southbound vehicles coming from Bonifacio Drive or the pier zone shall turn left on P. Burgos street, right on M. Orosa, right on T.M. Kalaw, left on M.H. del Pilar, left on Quirino Avenue, right on Mabini to their destination or take a left on P. Burgos to Finance Road and right to Taft Avenue.

All southbound vehicles coming from Jones, MacArthur and Quezon bridges shall go straight on Taft Avenue.

All cargo trucks, trailers and vans coming from Ayala Boulevard shall be allowed to proceed to pier area via P. Burgos and Bonifacio Drive.

Manila traffic chief Superintendent Rizaldy Yap said a considerable number of traffic cops and civilian traffic enforcers shall be deployed in the rerouted areas to guide motorists. – Nestor Etolle
