MANILA, Philippines - A body of a man believed to be a victim of summary execution was found stuffed in a rice sack floating in a Binondo creek yesterday.
Manila Police District’s homicide section head Chief Inspector Erwin Margarejo said a passerby found the body along Muelle de la Industria at about 6:40 a.m.
Margarejo said the victim was described as a fair-complexioned man with a medium build, between 45 and 55 years old, at least 5’4” tall, and with upper front teeth missing. He was clad in green t-shirt and black short pants and heavily tattooed, the most prominent of which is the Commando Gang.
Case investigator PO2 Gerry Amores said the victim’s face was covered with a hand towel and wrapped with packing tape. A steel wire was looped around the victim’s neck, his hands were tied with plastic straw and his feet bound with steel wire, Amores said. – Nestor Etolle
