Quezon City to deploy health center on wheels
MANILA, Philippines - The Quezon City government will soon send a “health center on wheels” to offer basic services to poor communities.
Dr. Antonieta Inumerable, city health department head, said the city government has allotted some P6 million for the mobile health center program, which is part of the anti-poverty reduction strategies of Mayor Feliciano Belmonte Jr.
The mobile clinics will provide basic medical and dental services to residents, particularly in District 2, where most of the city’s poor families are concentrated.
At the moment, the city has about 60 health centers, seven of which are categorized as super health centers such as the Betty Go Belmonte Super Health Center servicing the poor populations of Culiat, Pasong Tamo, Old Balara and Holy Spirit. – Reinir Padua
