3 men rob passengers of Baclaran-bound bus

MANILA, Philippines - Three men armed with handguns robbed at least 11 passengers of a bus bound for Baclaran in Pasay City Friday night.

Senior Police Officer 1 Cris Gabutin, case investigator, said it was around 6:30 p.m. when the robbers flagged down and boarded the Philippians bus (TXW-575) that was traversing EDSA near Taft Avenue.

Bus driver Rolando Elba, 42, said one of the robbers poked a gun at him while the others divested the passengers of their cash and valuables. The robbers then fled toward the direction of Park Avenue.

Senior Superintendent Raul Petrasanta, Pasay police chief, said they launched a follow-up operation to track down the three robbers.  – Rhodina Villanueva
