Valenzuela cops nab drug suspects in raid
MANILA, Philippines - Valenzuela police operatives arrested six persons in two raids of suspected illegal drug dens in Karuhatan and Marulas districts, a top police official said yesterday.
Senior Superintendent Rainer Idio, Valenzuela city police chief said the raids were subject to search warrant issued by Judge Maria Nena Santos of Regional Trial Court 171.
The raids carried out by the Anti Illegal Drug Operations Task Force investigation and detective unit mobile patrol and the Community Precinct 3 also resulted to the seizure of sealed sachets containing shabu and illegal drug paraphernalias.
Idio identified the arrested suspects as Rose Ann Villasana and Jason Sevilla, three subjects of warrants Nida, Vanessa and Joseph all surnamed Lacsamana were not present during the raid at 21 Justicia streets Arty Subdivision in Karuhatan district.
In a separate raid at house number 13 Prudecia St Don Pedro Marulas district Police arrested four suspects – Ana Regala, Jose Regala alleged maintainers of the drug hideout, Nestor Belarmino and Vilma Solitario – were also arrested during the raid.
Idio said the anti-drug operation is in line with the continued drive of the police to rid the city of the illegal drug trade. – Perseus Echeminanda
