Murder suspect nabbed in jeepney heist

MANILA, Philippines -  A man wanted for murder was arrested after he allegedly robbed the passengers of a public utility jeepney in North Caloocan yesterday.

Senior Superintendent George Gaddi identified the suspect as Felixberto Dayrit Jr, 33, taxi driver, and resident of Doña Ana Subdivision, Bagong Silang.

Records showed Dayrit pulled the heist with four other still unidentified men in a passenger jeepney driven by Alvin Estrella in Barugo, Bagong Silang at around 3 a.m. yesterday. Estrella reported the incident to the police after the robbery.

Dayrit is the subject of an arrest warrant for murder issued by Caloocan regional trial court Judge Thelma Pe-Aguirre on June 3, 2009.

Dayrit has been charged with robbery in connection with the jeepney heist and is detained at the city police jail. Jerry Botial
