MANILA, Philippines - Residents of 34 barangays in Quezon City’s third district were treated to an extended Christmas gift-giving ceremony yesterday, with President Arroyo leading the distribution of food packs.

A service caravan by the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. also provided free medical and dental services.

Clad in a violet dress, Mrs. Arroyo handed out food packs consisting of rice, noodles, canned goods, coffee, sugar and milk. She was accompanied by Quezon City District 3 Rep. Matias Defensor.

The President then visited the MC Defensor Foundation Training and Development Center, a two-story building that houses a mission clinic, a convenience store and a computer room where interested residents may take short courses. – Paolo Romero
