14 MPD officials reshuffled

-

MANILA, Philippines - Fourteen ranking police officers of the Manila Police District (MPD) were reshuffled yesterday in the runup to the May 10 elections.

MPD director Chief Superintendent Rodolfo Magtibay said the revamp would instill impartiality in Manila’s police force and “enhance” the MPD’s crime prevention program.

Raxabago, Tondo police station chief Superintendent Roderick Mariano was transferred to the Operations Division, while Superintendent Orlando Yebra took over his post.

Moriones police station chief Superintendent Rogelio Rosales became the district’s personnel chief, while former Pandacan police station chief Superintendent Ernesto Barlam was designated as the Moriones new station chief.

Barlam was replaced by detective management section chief Superintendent James Afalla, while Superintendent Francisco Gabriel assumed the latter’s post.

Sta. Cruz police station chief Superintendent Ernesto Tendero was transferred to the district legal office and replaced by Superintendent Frumencio Bernal.

Meisic police station chief Superintendent Nelson Yabut is the new chief of the MPD police-community relations division, as Superintendent Abad Osit was designated as the new Meisic police station head.

Magtibay said the revamp does not mean the reshuffled officers were remiss in their duties. “Each and everyone of them had exceptionally fared well in their assigned area of responsibility. But I have to assign them in other posts to mold them into well-rounded police officials,” he said. – Nestor Etolle, Sandy Araneta
