MANILA, Philippines - Valenzuela City League of Barangays president Councilor Alvin Feliciano yesterday pushed for the early implementation of flood control programs in the city.
Though months away from the onset of the rainy season, Feliciano said he will meet with officials of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and the city engineering department to discuss the status of the city’s flood control projects.
“We have to make sure that the anti-flood programs and projects will work and will not pose any problems once they are completed,’’ he said.
Feliciano also asked the barangays to coordinate with the local government in the implementation of the projects in their respective areas.
“Most barangays are flooded during the rainy season so we are searching for ways to protect and keep our residents safe while the rains have not come yet,” said Feliciano.
Feliciano urged residents to inform them about problem areas so that they can immediately act on them. – Jerry Botial
