12 hurt as 2 buses collide on EDSA flyover

MANILA, Philippines - At least 12 persons were injured after two passenger buses crashed into each other along the northbound lane of the EDSA-Quezon Avenue flyover in Quezon City Thursday night.

The victims were brought to the East Avenue Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries, police said.

Although no one was seriously hurt in the incident that happened at around 10 p.m., police said Simeon Salando, 41, of Bagong Silang, Muntinlupa will face charges of reckless imprudence resulting in multiple slight physical injuries.

He was driving a PANA bus (PYJ-955) when the vehicle rammed a Don Mariano transit bus (PBX-565) driven by Valentine Obligasyon, 34.

Traffic enforcer Ronald Tan said one of those hurt in the incident was Vanessa Trinchera, 28, a resident of San Francisco del Monte, Quezon City. – Michael Punongbayan
