Houses in Tanay await Pasay fire victims
MANILA, Philippines - Pasay City Mayor Wenceslao Trinidad said a permanent housing site awaits hundreds of families who were displaced in a fire more than a week ago.
He said the 800 affected families will have to wait since their transfer to the city government’s housing project in Tanay, Rizal, will have to be facilitated by February.
“The structures in fact, have already been put up. However, there are still some things that need to be ironed out or finalized in line with the transfer of the beneficiaries at the site,” Trinidad said.
Meanwhile, he said the city government will continue to help the fire victims, most of whom live in tents put up at a lot that formerly served as station of the BLTB Bus firm along Edsa and at a specified area along Gamban street. – Rhodina Villanueva
