3 rob suspects nabbed in Caloocan

-

MANILA, Philippines - Caloocan City police arrested three robbery suspects and recovered from them different bank and identification cards of their alleged victims including that of a dentist from Bulacan.

Mark Anthony, 24, a pedicab driver; Adrian Escaran, 23, a Navotas Fish Port Complex worker, both residents of Navotas City; and Ronald Rodrigo, 26, a resident of Marilao, Bulacan were apprehended at around 2 a.m. at the corner of C-3 Road and Dagat-Dagatan Avenue in Caloocan City.

Police recovered from the suspects several IDs, ATM cards, credit cards and a lady’s wallet with documents by the name of Ma. Rosalie Samoza, a dentist from San Jose del Monte City, Bulacan. Police were on a routine checkpoint along C-3 Road when they flagged down a speeding tricycle but its occupants ignored the cops. Police chased the wayward tricycle but failed to catch up with it but upon reaching the corner of Dagat-Dagatan Avenue they noticed at least three men standing by the darkened portion of the road.

The cops confronted the suspects who tried to escape but were quickly surrounded. When frisked, the men yielded bladed weapons, bankcards and identification cards with different names. One belongs to Samoza. While at the police station, a certain Juanito Dapla, 19, a resident Dagat-Dagatan, Caloocan City, informed the police that the three also held him up recently in a passenger jeepney along Dagat-Dagatan Avenue. Dapla said he recognized the suspects when he saw their faces in the early morning TV news.               – Pete Laude
