MANILA, Philippines - Road rage murder suspect Jason Ivler is now allegedly being held by a “very influential group” that even his family claims to the police that they are not aware of his whereabouts.
Operatives of the Quezon City Police District late yesterday went to three houses in Blue Ridge A Subdivision but still were not able to find the suspect in the killing of Renato Victor Ebarle Jr.
“The mother (Marlene Aguilar) claims he (Ivler) is now being held by a very influential group. She claims they are no longer exerting effort to locate him,” QCPD deputy director for operations Senior Superintendent Audie Arroyo told reporters after talking with Ivler’s mother inside a house at No. 23 Hillside Drive in Blue Ridge A.
But Arroyo said, as claimed by Ivler’s mother, that the group did not seem to be a syndicate.
Two other houses in Blue Ridge A were visited during the operations from late afternoon until early last night. But Ivler could not be found in all the three houses.
Policemen could not enter the one at No. 18 Hillside Drive even if intelligence reports pointed to the said house to have allegedly been visited by Ivler. No one at the house talked to policemen even if it appeared that it could not have been deserted since plants inside the compound seemed to have just been watered.
Both houses on Hillside Drive had photos of Marlene Aguilar displayed on their gates.
Another house at No. 63 Hillside Loop was checked by policemen but its occupant claimed she was renting the residence from Marlene Aguilar.
According to Arroyo, Ivler’s mother was “diverting us to other issues” whenever he tried to ask about the suspect’s whereabouts. “She (Marlene Aguilar) did not want to give other information,” he said.
Village chief Lito Misa claimed they have not seen Ivler in the area since the killing of Ebarle and that the security guards at the subdivision were instructed to report it if they saw Ivler in the village.
