Muntinlupa executives seek re-election

MANILA, Philippines - Muntinlupa City Mayor Aldrin San Pedro and Vice Mayor Artemio Simundac filed their certificates of candidacy (COCs) before the local Commission on Elections (Comelec) office yesterday morning.

San Pedro’s bets for District 1 councilors are Vicky dela Rea, Ringo Teves, Bobby Barlis, Dr. Ning Calalang, Alexander Diaz, Val Niefes, Raul Corro and Dr. Amy Patdu.

His bets for District 2 councilors are Lovy Constantino, Lito Arevalo, Victor Ulanday, Raffy Joaquin,Marmerto Sevilla, Roberto Abas, Raffy Baez and Grace Gonzaga.

San Pedro said if he gets re-elected, he will continue the programs he started in the city, which are in line with the city government’s plan to be recognized as the next business district.

“We want more projects for the city that will in effect, improve the services being provided the residents as well as guests. Priority will be the rehabilitation of streets, schools and other public buildings that were damaged by recent typhoons,” he said.

As for former mayor Jaime Fresnedi’s bid to reclaim his post, he said it is Fresnedi’s right to run for any post. He added that the projects he introduced to improve Muntinlupa would give him an edge over his rival.   – Rhodina Villanueva
