Clerk nabbed for stealing P1.3 million from girlie bar

-

MANILA, Philippines - Police arrested Friday night a woman who allegedly stole P1.3 million from a girlie bar she worked for in Quezon City.

May Osorio, 41, will be charged with qualified theft before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office. She is being held at the Quezon City Police District’s Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit (QCPD-CIDU) in Camp Karingal.

Osorio, a resident of Don Carlos Village in Pasig City, worked as an accounting employee for the Queen’s Castle Club along Quezon Avenue.

Club owner Rolando Villanueva said he found out about the missing money Friday morning, after conducting a sales inventory of all the income remitted to Osorio.

He said he discovered the missing money was supposed to have been paid to suppliers and a mortgage payment on a car.

Senior Police Officer 1 Mariano Turiano, the officer-on-case, said Osorio allegedly went into hiding after her employer learned of the missing cash. Osorio was arrested when she met with another club employee.   – Michael Punongbayan
