15 hurt in C5 Road mishap
MANILA, Philippines - At least 15 persons, including a pregnant woman, were injured in an accident involving three vehicles along C5 Road in Taguig City Wednesday night.
Jenny Rose Dawal, 23, who is three months pregnant; and Michelle Matimtim, 25, were seriously hurt, according to police. They were brought to the Ospital ng Makati for treatment.
Senior Police Officer 4 Ronald Dimaguila said driver Henry Ricafort, 35, was unloading passengers from his jeepney along C5 Road’s northbound lane at around 10:30 p.m. when his vehicle was hit by a shuttle bus driven by Jerry Rosal, 35.
The jeepney then hit a van in front of it, then turned over.
Taguig City traffic enforcers brought the victims to the hospital.
Rosal surrendered to authorities. He faces charges of reckless imprudence resulting in multiple serious physicial injuries.
Others who suffered minor wounds and bruises in the incident are Maricar Atillo, 22; Jean Lego, 18; Lorenzo Lirio, 19; Miel Edward Peralta, 22; Rodrigo Canalita, 41; Ma. Christine Navarro, 30; Robert John Palabasan, 20; Godofredo Quismundo, 20; Edgar Obligar, 32; Albert Aldea, 20; Arlene Espanol, 31; Alma Laurena; and Rea Lacson.
