1 dead, 2 hurt in Parañaque shooting

MANILA, Philippines – A man was killed and two others were hurt during a shooting at the Bicutan interchange in Parañaque City Saturday night.

Police Officer 2 Johnny Margate identified the fatality as Joseph Gilven Lamame, of San Pablo, Laguna. Lamame sustained gunshot wounds in the chest and stomach and was declared dead on arrival at the South Superhighway Medical Center.

The two other victims were identified as Norman Resulto, 26, and Liberty Suarez.

Resulto, a friend of Lamamen, remains confined in an undisclosed hospital due to a gunshot wound in the chest, while Suarez was hit by a stray bullet in the left leg and was treated at the Taguig-Pateros Medical Center.

Initial investigation showed that around 8:30 p.m., Lamame and Resulto were walking along the footbridge on the East Service Road at Bicutan Interchange when an unidentified man started shouting at them.

The victims tried to approach the suspect, but the latter pulled out a handgun and shot the victims.Police said Suarez was among those walking along the footbridge.

The suspect fled on foot after the shooting. Police recovered a .45 caliber pistol with several bullets at the crime scene. – Jose Rodel Clapano
