MANILA, Philippines - The Philippine International Marathon 2009, a Run for the Pasig River, will be held today at the Quirino Grandstand in Rizal Park.

Organized by the Kabit Bisig Para sa Ilog Pasig, the run aims to boost awareness about the project and raise funds to rehabilitate the Pasig River.

To give way to the marathon, the Manila Police District closed the southbound lane of Roxas Boulevard from P. Burgos to P. Ocampo starting at 3 a.m. and Roxas Boulevard’s northbound lane from 6 a.m. to 7:30 a.m.

The southbound stretch of Roxas Boulevard from Quirino Avenue up to T.M. Kalaw will also be closed today for the second leg of the Manila Criterium Grandprix.
