Caloocan to hold month-long health caravan

-

MANILA, Philippines – The Caloocan City health department will spearhead a month-long mobile clinic caravan in the city’s 188 barangays as part of Mayor Enrico Echiverri’s “gift of health and wellness” to residents in connection with his birthday celebration on Nov. 18.

“I wanted to do something more meaningful for the residents on that day to make their lives a little better. I would like to take the opportunity to offer them the gift of love and services,” Echiverri said.

Part of the four-week service caravan and mobile clinic, which will start tomorrow, is a series of bloodletting activities in selected areas in the city.

Other activities on schedule are free medical and dental services, grooming services and supplemental feeding for undernourished kids.

The health department, headed by Dr. Rachel So-Sayo, and all the local health centers would also be providing children ages six months to six years free vitamin A supplements and deworming tablets. – Pete Laude
