Globe working to restore service in Rizal, eastern Metro
Globe Telecom said yesterday that it has restored service in most parts of Metro Manila, except for certain areas in the eastern side of the metropolis and Rizal province.
“We are working round the clock to achieve full restoration of signal in all our service areas,” Globe head for corporate and regulatory affairs Caridad Gonzales said.
Gonzales said Globe is doubling its efforts in sourcing funds to help flood victims. “We will be distributing relief goods for affected families in Marikina and Rizal areas tomorrow,” she said, adding that Globe is also donating P1 million to provide relief for affected Gawad Kalinga families.
The telecommunications firm has set up the Globe Libreng Tawag at the Ever Gotesco in Cainta, Rizal; Barangay Baranka, Marikina; and at the Leodogaria Elementary School in Barangay De La Pena, Marikina City for people who want to contact their families and friends.
Gonzales said Globe business centers are accepting donations in kind, and the public may also donate cell phone load to the Philippine National Red Cross through Globe’s Donate-a-Load service free of charge by texting RED (SPACE)>AMOUNT< to 2899.
“For our Globe employees who have been incommunicado and have been needing assistance, we have rolled out trucks for Marikina, Cainta, Pasig, Rizal and San Mateo areas to try and locate you. Globe employees may call the Globe employee hotline,” Gonzales said.
