'Maniac' rob suspect shot dead in police station
MANILA, Philippines - A man who allegedly robbed and molested at least five nursing students over the past two months was shot dead in a Sta. Cruz, Manila police station Friday afternoon.
Eddie Boy Ebasco, 30, was being interrogated at the station’s investigation room when he reportedly grabbed the service firearm of Senior Police Officer 2 Wilfredo Contreras.
PO3 Laurence Ignacio, who was also in the room, said he saw Ebasco poised to shoot his colleague. He fired two shots at the suspect.
Ebasco was arrested Friday morning after he allegedly robbed and molested a female nursing student. Following his arrest, another female nursing student arrived at the police station and identified him as the same man who robbed her and forced her to fondle him.
Police said the suspect has been on their wanted list for robbing and molesting at least three other female nursing students last month.
