MANILA, Philippines - A teenage boy died after jumping from the third level of a mall in Quezon City Friday night.
Danilo Jadd Coronel, 18, of Malabon, was dead on arrival at the FEU Hospital at past 7 p.m. from head injuries he sustained.
Chief Inspector Benjamin Elenzano, head of the Homicide Investigation Section of the Quezon City Police District, said the boy’s family told investigators he left a suicide note before going to the mall.
“However, the family refused to show the supposed note and only said the boy had personal problems,” Police Officer 2 Joycelyn Marcelo said.
Coronel, a student at STI College, was reportedly walking with a female friend on the third level of the mall when he suddenly turned away from his companion and jumped, landing on the ground floor in full view of diners at the food court.
Coronel’s companion told authorities and asked for help in bringing the teenager to the hospital. – Reinir Padua
