Skyway firm: Expect heavy traffic in Alabang

-

MANILA, Philippines - The Skyway Stage 2 project traffic manager, Skyway O & M Corp. (SOMCO), announced yesterday that they will start bored pile drilling, casting and column site excavation today for the Alabang ramp.

SOMCO said the approach to the South Station toll plaza will be limited to one lane, but all toll plaza lanes will remain open.

SOMCO said corresponding traffic measures have to be in place to ease up the expected heavy traffic, such as the re-opening of the Filinvest exit starting yesterday for motorists going to business and commercial centers and residential subdivisions in Alabang and Las Piñas City.

SOMCO also opened two additional lanes at the Alabang Southbound exit starting today for motorists going out of the tollways to the Alabang public market.

The project, which involves the extension of the Skyway’s elevated toll road from Bicutan to Alabang, is set to be completed by May 2011.
