Actress loses P.3-million jewelry to new maid

-

MANILA, Philippines - Actress Mickey Ferriols told police she allegedly lost jewelry worth P300,000 to her housemaid, who worked for her for only three days.

Ferriols, 36, said she discovered last Saturday that some of her jewelry was missing, according to Inspector Edgar Enopia, head of the Theft and Robbery Investigation Section of the Quezon City Police District.

Enopia said Ferriols alleged that her housemaid, Ronaline Brecio, 31, took the items with her when she left Ferriols’ house in Montgomery Place last Wednesday.

Ferriols told policemen that Brecio only started working for her Aug. 24 after she was sent by an employment agency.

Ferriols said Brecio asked permission to return to her hometown in Leyte, claiming her father had died. Brecio reportedly promised Ferriols she would return on Sept. 2.

Enopia said he advised Ferriols to wait Brecio to return before filing any charges. He added that Ferriols could also hold the agency that sent Brecio accountable for the theft. – Reinir Padua
