2 gangmen nabbed for heist

MANILA, Philippines - Two alleged members of the Sputnik Gang were arrested for allegedly robbing a resident in Bagong Silang, Caloocan City.

Victim Joseph Jay Binuya, 18, of Barangay 188 said he lost a cell phone, a silver bracelet and necklace to two men who robbed him at knifepoint the other day.

In a follow-up operation, police officers, led by Police Officer Femar Taguinod, arrested Christopher Garde, 24, and a 16-year-old boy.

Binuya, in a confrontation at the police station yesterday, identified the two as the ones who robbed him.

Garde is detained at the police jail pending the filing of charges while the boy will be turned over to the local social welfare office. – Jerry Botial
