Boratong nephew faces gun, drug raps
MANILA, Philippines - A nephew of shabu flea market operator Amin Imam Boratong was arrested yesterday by the Eastern Police District (EPD) for illegal possession of a handgun and several sachets of shabu.
Aliman Boratong, alias Boy Negro, was collared by EPD’s intelligence agents and the Pasig City police along Amang Rodriguez Avenue in Barangay Manggahan.
Reports reaching Metro police chief Director Roberto Rosales stated that Aliman took over the reins of his uncle’s drug syndicate.
Rosales first marching orders to EPD director Chief Superintendent Benjardi Mantele was to neutralize Boratong’s drug syndicate and the arrest of the younger Boratong was his first accomplishment.
Aliman was the target of a raid conducted recently by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) but he managed to elude arrest.
Superintendent Antonio Yarra, EPD intelligence chief, said Aliman was about to board his green Honda Civic (WCH-588) when he was arrested.
Police seized a .45 caliber automatic pistol tucked into Aliman’s waistband and two loaded magazines. Aliman failed to present gun permits.
When Yarra’s men searched Aliman’s vehicle, they found sachets of shabu and several drug paraphernalia in the passenger’s seat and on the dashboard.
Mantele said the sachets of shabu were turned over to the crime laboratory of the Philippine National Police for examination.
Mantele ordered the filing of illegal possession of firearms and ammunition and possession of illegal drugs charges against Aliman. – Non Alquitran
