Dead baby found floating in creek

MANILA, Philippines - The body of a seven-month-old baby was found floating in a creek in Quezon City yesterday morning.

Village councilman Ricky delos Santos said residents in Barangay Damayang Lagi noticed the baby floating near a bridge along E. Rodriguez Sr. Avenue near the Delos Santos Hospital at around 5 a.m.

According to Delos Santos, children who were playing in the creek were asked by residents to fish out the infant’s body.

He said the body was placed in a box and brought to the Corinthian Funeral Homes.

Delos Santos said the infant, whose sex was not reported, may have been dumped at the portion of the creek passing through Barangay Tatalon, based on the direction of the current. – Reinir Padua
