Teen killed in Quezon City shooting

MANILA, Philippines - A teenage boy was shot dead along IBP Road in Quezon City Saturday night, police said yesterday.

The victim, identified as Elberto Jimenez, 18, of Barangay Batasan Hills, died of a gunshot wound in the back of the head.

His unidentified attacker, armed with a .45 caliber pistol, allegedly appeared while he was walking along IBP Road around 7:20 p.m.

The victim, who was with a friend identified as Joel Quilote, died on the spot while the shooter fled on foot.

Police recovered a .45 caliber shell from the scene of the crime. The victim’s body will be sent to the Philippine national Police Crime Laboratory in Camp Crame for autopsy.

Police have yet to determine the motive behind the killing. – Michael Punongbayan
