Woman kills partner in Caloocan

MANILA, Philippines - A 29-year-old man was stabbed dead by his live-in partner who refused to have sex with the victim yesterday in Caloocan City.

Warren Vallespin, a jobless resident of Labahita extension, Kaunlaran Village, died when he was stabbed by his partner Cecilia Obregon, 31, who is now detained at the Caloocan police jail.

Obregon said Vallespin roused her from sleep. She said she was already naked from her waist down when she awoke and Vallespin who was drunk demanded to have sex with her.

She said she was annoyed that even as he wanted to have sex, the man nagged her about their family problems.

She refused to have sex that made Vallespin very angry. Vallespin got hold of a kitchen knife and threatened to kill her.

Obregon said she stood her ground and tried to grab the knife. They scuffled for possession until she succeeded in taking the knife from the drunken victim.

She stabbed the victim on the left side of his body then fled.

The wounded Vallespin called for help outside their home but nobody dared. The husband later bled to death inside their house.

Obregon surrendered to barangay officials who then turned her over to the police for further investigation.   – Jerry Botial
