Trader loses P.2 million to robbers

-

MANILA, Philippines - A trader lost nearly P.2 million in cash and valuables to three unidentified motorcycle-riding robbers in Valenzuela City Wednesday afternoon.

Police said Adrian Guansing, 31, a resident of Barangay Veinte Realis in Valenzuela City, was robbed of P181,000 – the amount he received for selling his Honda Civic LXI to Rommel Manlutac – a Blackberry mobile phone, a bag containing important documents and personal items at around 3 p.m.

Guansing was about to pick up his children in another car when he was held up. The victim, with friends Lester Mendoza and Donna Mendoza, had just parked his vehicle at the corner of Manatoa street and MacArthur Highway when two men with drawn handguns appeared in front of his vehicle.

The suspects ordered Guansing to open the car door and at gunpoint told him to hand them his money. The suspects also took Guansing’s bag, which contained clothes, ATM cards, his driver’s license and the Deed of Sale for his Honda Civic.

The suspects boarded a waiting motorcycle driven by a cohort.

Northern Police District (NPD) director Chief Superintendent Samuel Pagdilao Jr. has been reminding his police officers, the precinct commanders in particular, “to curb crimes” within their jurisdiction or they would be relieved from their post.

The first casualty of Pagdilao’s directive was Inspector Redentor Tabo, Malabon City Police Community Precinct 3 commander. He was relieved yesterday for failing to control the surge of crimes in Barangays Longos and Tonsuya. – Pete Laude
